ARTIFACTS presented a performance and 2 photographic works for Positive Masculinity at Maison Depoivre in Prince Edward County. Both the performance, Dragging the Debate, and the images, Debate: Hart House #1 and Debate: Hart House #2, reference a specific historic event that occurred at Hart House, University of Toronto. Women wanted to attend the 1968 Bob Rae and Michael Ignatieff debate but were only allowed to sit in the gallery. A number however disguised themselves as men and attempted to enter onto the floor of the Debates Room. The nail polish on one woman’s hand gave her away! The work was originally performed as Entertaining without a Maid for Babble (Babel), an International art event presented at Hart House, the University of Toronto.
